Dr. Esha Breathes
Dr. Esha Breathes is professionally known as Dr. Aisha Woods. She is a Personal Counselor and Counselor Practicum Program Coordinator at the Student Advocacy Center atSan Antonio College and is a Psychology Fellow at Trinity University. Dr. Woods completed her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology (PsyD) in August 2020 from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Woods has been a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas for over 11 years. She has provided therapy and mental healthservices in local hospitals, private practice, and in various college mental health settings. Her areas of speciality include, but are not limited to workshop content development, microaggressions, racial stigmas and traumas, interpersonal relationships, healthy boundaries, academic fatigue, clergy member mental health, and students of color experiences in higher education. She served active duty in the United States Air Force for 7 years and received an honorable medical retirement in 2010 after being injured during her support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Aside from her professional work, Dr. Woods is an active member with the American Psychological Association’s Division 17, Society of Counseling Psychology, serving on both the inaugural Development Committee and the section of Supervision and Training. She is also a past Fellow of the APA’s Minority Fellowship; a national program that supports psychology doctoral students of color who desire to support their communities upon graduating.
In her current role. Dr. Woods supports the students of San Antonio College and their mental health needs by providing short term brief psychotherapy, provides workshops, and supervises the practicum student counselors, who also provide mental health support to the students of San Antonio College.
In her personal time, Dr. Woods loves all things travel and wine related. As an individual with multiple intersecting identities, she is committed to providing high-quality, culturally sensitive services. She has experience and affirms a wide diversity of clientele, which includes people of color, people of all genders (binary and nonbinary), LGBTQ+, and individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds and with varying religious/spiritual beliefs.
